Engineering Center of Excellence, the Senior Director of
Reliability Engineering is responsible for designing, establishing,
and leading a new reliability engineering practice that will drive
best practice across the organization. This practice will provide
engineering teams across the Cox Automotive Product Group with the
standards, support, structure and guidance to manage their
operations as a part of the whole enterprise in an empowering and
effective manner.Activities Include:
- Leading a team of practitioners who will drive and steward the
practices of the organization and socialize them with teams across
- Engaging with technology leadership to determine and prioritize
areas of focus on an ongoing basis to invest and improve the
practice in parts of the organization.
- Build a practice of metrics-based improvement to track and
communicate progress of the organization towards a more effective
- Collaborate with others to track and identify work in areas of
the organization to drive continued investment into operational
excellence in all areas of the organization.
- Partner with others in the enterprise to ensure effective,
streamlined and successful interactions between delivery teams and
enterprise operations teams.
- Influence other aspects of the Engineering Center of Excellence
to align to common objectives of increased operational efficiency,
reduced waste and improving key indicators for teams.
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, information
systems, business administration or related field, or 12+ years of
relevant experience with at least 7 years experience in a
leadership role or masters degree plus 10 years experience.
- Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic
planning and execution skills.
- Working knowledge of delivery products with Lean, SAFe, or
Agile with Scrum.
- Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies,
including cloud-based ecosystems (AWS preferred).
- Strong vendor management and partner relations skills.
- Ability to drive organizational change and build capabilities
that effectively optimize operational efficiency and deliver
innovative and agile solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including
the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to
business leaders and teams.
- Highly effective in working with a collaborative,
cross-functional team environment.
