Full-time Description Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) is
a premier, independent, PreK-12th grade school located just outside

The mission of Greater Atlanta Christian School is to help each

God and man. Job Summary: High School Theater Directors are
responsible for developing, leading, and sustaining a
Christ-centered theater program that supports the mission and
values of the school. This role oversees theatrical instruction,
directs productions, mentors students artistically and spiritually,
and collaborates with faculty to integrate performing arts into the
broader educational experience. The director will prepare students
for school performances, chapel services, competitions, and
community performances, ensuring that theater is used as a tool for
worship and artistic excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for
teaching theatre in grades 9-12 and providing the vision for GAC’s
theatre program. Teach GAC secondary students the fundamentals of
theatre arts, including the integration of faith and academics and
relate to and inspire confidence in students. Create superb
finished productions with student talent in the array of
performance opportunities: full-scale musicals, classic theater
productions, one-act competition plays, and other creative
performances. Develop and select theatrical curriculum and
materials that align with a Biblical, Christ-centered worldview.
Demonstrate a passion for storytelling that advances faith while
thoughtfully developing theatrical skills. Foster a spirit of
partnership and collaboration with other performing arts
disciplines. Assess students and analyze results; refine and
differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and
student needs. Identify unique student needs and collaborate with
team members to effectively address those needs: manage student
behavior to ensure every student is fully engaged. Communicate
regularly with students and their families about student progress;
be available for regular office hours to advise and assist students
in a variety of areas, including potential careers in their related
field of study. Prepare venues for all productions; supervise all
rehearsals, performances, and productions, while following
established school procedures. Collaborate with colleagues to
improve instructional practices throughout the school; share best
practices. Actively participate in professional development
activities. Senior high faculty are also expected to serve as
sponsors of student organizations and participate in campus and
community events. Engagement in the broader life and culture of the
school, including supportive presence for our students in other
performing arts, athletics, etc. Perform other work as needed.
Support the mission, vision, and core values of Greater Atlanta
Christian School. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A minimum of a
bachelor’s degree in Theater or a related field is required; a
master’s degree is preferred. Relevant teaching experience and
experience in the performing arts. Ability to teach an additional
field such as literature, Bible, foreign language, is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills;
Ability to embrace innovation as a tool to teach, engage, and
motivate students; Knowledge of student cognitive development and
various learning styles; Share GAC’s commitment to differentiated
learning and exhibit comprehension of connected learning skills,
concepts, and tools. Demonstrated belief and personal commitment to
Christian education and the GAC mission, including the GAC
Statement of Faith and Community Covenant. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &
CAPABILITIES Strong communication, leadership, and organizational
skills. Passion for mentoring students both artistically and
spiritually. Understanding of biblical worship and its role in
Christian education. Background in musical theater and experience
leading worship or working in church theater ministry. Knowledge of
theater technology, digital recording, and sound production.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to be stationary for prolonged
periods at a desk, sometimes while working on a computer. Must be
able to operate a computer and other office machinery. Must be able
to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to read written or
electronic documents with or without correction. Must be able to
communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must
be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must
be able to traverse between office buildings/facilities on campus.

checking, and drug/alcohol screening clearance. Acknowledgment of
