RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the direct supervision and organization of campers within activities and throughout the camp in order to meet the intended camper outcomes. Assure campers are properly supervised at all times. Be responsible for leading and assisting with the teaching of activities. Enthusiastically participate in all program areas as assigned. Communicate and work with Spartan Summer Camp staff members. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE The successful candidate will possess relevant experience; experience in a Before/After School program and/or Summer Camp program for grades K-3 and higher is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & CAPABILITIES Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to convey a dynamic, energetic, patient, and nurturing spirit with passion and skill to actively and positively engage students. Flexible, with the ability to work in a highly demanding, stressful environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to work standing/walking throughout assigned shift with some rest periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to frequently kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, and/or squat to interact with children. Must be able to read written or electronic documents with or without correction. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to write using English in a legible form. Must be able to traverse between facilities on campus.
