Job Description Job Description We're looking for a proactive Junior Accountant to support plant operations and corporate reporting for one of our valued clients in Tucker, GA . Key Responsibilities Core Accounting: Prepare and post journal entries; manage month-end close activities including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Inventory Accounting: Monitor and explain inventory variances; assist with quarterly physical counts and adjustments. Reporting: Ensure timely, accurate reporting to corporate (no direct SEC filings). Cross-Training & Coverage: Gain exposure to cost accounting, fixed assets, AP/AR, and payroll interfaces to provide continuity and coverage. Controls & Compliance: Maintain organized workpapers, uphold internal controls, and support SOX/GAAP compliance. Continuous Improvement: Identify process efficiencies and partner with operations to improve financial outcomes. Ad Hoc Support: Deliver analysis and special projects for plant leadership and corporate finance. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Finance degrees considered with strong accounting coursework. Experience: 1-2 years preferred; open to more experienced candidates within budget. Systems: SAP and/or BlackLine experience is a plus. Excel: Intermediate to advanced skills (pivot tables, lookups, conditional formulas). Knowledge: Solid understanding of US GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and inventory accounting.
