This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to manage and oversee our technical accounting operations, ensuring compliance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant financial regulations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring our financial operations are transparent and efficient.Responsibilities:1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the technical accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.2. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial operations.4. Coordinate and complete annual audits, liaising with external auditors as necessary.5. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.6. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.7. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.8. Support month-end and year-end close process.9. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.10. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Qualifications:1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA will be an added advantage.2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.3. A minimum of 5-7 years of combined Finance and Accounting experience in a public/private sector.4. Proven experience as a technical accounting manager, preferably in the energy industry.5. Familiarity with accounting software, spreadsheets, and complex financial modeling.6. Working knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.7. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.8. Excellent accounting software user administration skills.9. Prior experience with Deloitte, PwC, or similar firms will be highly advantageous.10. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.11.
