Job Description:
The Director, Tax is responsible for all aspects of the global
income tax provision, global income tax compliance, planning,
audits, and internal controls. The Director, Tax will work with
operations, finance, taxing authorities, and service providers to
identify issues, implement strategies, and ensure accurate tax
reporting and compliance for the organization. Salary is
$160-$200K
Responsibilities:
Oversee and direct the quarterly and annual financial reporting
requirements in accordance with ASC 740, including uncertain tax
positions, valuation allowances, and the design and maintenance of
SOX controls.
Coordinate, monitor and review the preparation of all federal,
state, and international tax returns by third party tax service
providers. Participate in managing the relationship with this key
tax services vendor and their performance.
Responsible for monitoring accurate federal, state and
international income tax activity within the general ledger and
preparation of tax account reconciliations.
Provide timely responses and resolutions to income tax inquires,
notices, and issues originating from, but not limited to, third
party tax service, internal departments, customers and taxing
authorities.
Assist with global Transfer Pricing studies and country by country
reporting requirements.
Responsible for preparation of tax information for auditors,
consultants and other parties as needed in the event of audit or
inquiries.
Research and advise on new or changing tax regulations that may
impact the business, commerce and other internal activities.
Provide expertise and support for testing and implementing systems
and/or process changes to support increased efficiencies.
Build strong relationships and work cross-functionally with other
finance functions to ensure a smooth and timely monthly close.
Assist with multi-state sales & use tax and property tax compliance
and audits.
Monitor or prepare other tax-related filings which include, but are
not limited to: business licenses, annual reports, and business
registrations.
Assist with analyzing tax implications of potential business
decisions.
Assist with cash defense planning such as coordination and planning
of R&D Tax Credit Study.
Participate in other projects as required.
Support and consult on M&A due diligence and new entity
formation, develop efficient structuring for transactions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, advanced degree in taxation or a
CPA certification is preferred
Minimum 10 years of U.S. and International income tax experience
(Big 4 preferred) or multi-national industry experience
Strong income tax provision skills, including current tax rules and
US GAAP
Deep understanding of state and local tax issues
Experience and working knowledge of transfer pricing, international
taxation, and tax accounting
Experience with internal control procedures in compliance with
Sarbanes Oxley
Ability to dig in, mange projects, and establish processes
Strong leadership, supervisory, decision making and technical
skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented, team player, with the
ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
Experience with tax software, ideally OneSource, and other
financial systems
Intermediate to advanced MS Excel
