We make sure that they know that they are essential to our success.A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BOOKKEEPERAs a Bookkeeper, you come to work eager to ensure the smooth running of our accounting department. At times, you apply yourself to accounts payable, creating purchase orders, posting accounts payable invoices, and more. At others, accounts receivable needs your attention. You create accounts receivable invoices, make collection calls, and so on. Other tasks also include:Setting up a paperless office system including organized storage of all correspondence, contracts, bills, POs, liens, and other documents related to construction projects and accountingPreparing project budgets, including cost schedules, and working with field personnel to stay within those budgets-communicating any variances to upper management, and re-budgeting or re-forecasting as necessaryProcess all accounts payable and accounts receivableRecognize revenue appropriately throughout the course of the projectsPreparation of monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements and month-end close) GL account review and reconciliation including G&A analysisJob cost analysis and reportingPrepare audit work papers and schedulesParticipate in software conversion and updatesAnalysis of project expenditures and project accounting transactionsThroughout the day, your experience with QuickBooks is put to good use. It feels great to be part of a successful team!QUALIFICATIONS5+ years of QuickBooks experienceAt least 5 years of experience with construction accountingProficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelExperience in the HVAC / mechanical construction industryExperience with service dispatch software would be a plus.
