Join our world class team and culture and contribute to our core mission which is enhancing our customer's experience.Summary: Responsible for examining, analyzing, interpreting and maintaining the accounts and records of the company to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Compiles and analyzes financial and non-financial information to record transactions and review/verify the accuracy of the data. Works closely with accounting management and senior management in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Prepares the cost accounting financial statements, including analysis by product line, offering insight and additional metrics on how the data can be analyzed Assists with the annual budget process as well as periodic reforecasts Helps maintain the company s accounting records Provides both analysis and insight into the company s operation to achieve more profitable results Assists with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processing Prepares ad-hoc and other reports as directed by management Reconciles general ledger data to various sub-ledger and system data Responsible for month-end closing activities preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, etc. Identifies ways to promote efficiency within the financial reporting process to implement and/or incorporate best practices Protects organization s value by keeping information confidential Prepares variance analysis on a monthly and ad hoc basis Adherence to department policies and proceduresCompetencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Analytical Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Strong analytical skills Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions Customer Service - Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments. Initiative - Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; Asks for and offers help when needed.Education and/or Experience: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Three plus years previous experience in Accounting or Finance reconciling accounts, performing financial analysis and preparing financial statements.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced MS Excel skills and intermediate proficiency with MS Word and MS Access (or similar database query tools).
