You will enjoy flexibility and autonomy, have a visible role in a Top 10 firm and ample opportunities to make an impact and advance your career.As a Manager/Director for our Indirect Tax Compliance practice you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in an advisory role to the Tax and Regulatory teams of our leading telecommunications/energy tax and regulatory practice at CLA.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of tax strategy, tax reporting and regulatory reporting requirements for firm clients.
  • Provide management, leadership and training guidance.
  • Maintain strong client interaction and communication on client projects and implementations of tax and regulatory outsourcing. -Our successful candidate will also:
    • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. -
    • Be adaptable, flexible, and able to work independently to accomplish tasks in a time sensitive manner. -
    • Have knowledge of state and federal laws impacting utility legislation; how to handle adversarial interactions; how to negotiate reasonable solutions; and effectively research techniques;
    • Have the ability to plan, direct and coordinate activities of a complex, interrelated and interdependent nature, where unknowns and numerous contingency factors are involved
    • Work with outside parties and establish a working relationship in order to accomplish program goals; interpret existing and proposal laws, policies and procedures and how they relate to utility regulations;
    • Assess the client specific impact, operational and organizational implications of existing and proposed legislative, policy and program decisions; formulate firm policies, procedures and guidelines; and serve as technical advisor and liaison with internal staff, clients and staff, industry, affiliate groups and local, state and federal agencies. -Required Education and Experience:Experience
      • 6+ years of professional experience. A minimum of 5 years managing teams and individuals.Education
        • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (Industry experience can be reviewed in lieu of education).Certifications
          • CPA certification. Enrolled Agent (Director only) or JD may be accepted in place of CPA certification.#LI-MM1Shortly after you apply you will receive an invitation with additional information.
