OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARYOversees the daily operations of the Financial Counseling Staff. Ensures staff members are trained and educated in evaluating financial situations of Northside Hospital patients by arranging methods of payment for services rendered in accordance with hospital policies. Assists with development of policies and processes to monitor employee productivity, quality assurance and accelerated point of service collections.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountability for supervision of team leads and staff overseeing and controlling daily workflow.
  • Provides assistance to team leads and financial counselors as needed to resolve patient concerns.
  • Oversees the Cosmetic and Flat Fee programs to ensure optimal physician relationships, and ensure all policies and procedures are followed as written.
  • Ensures all cash policies are followed, including preparation of deposits, accurate completion of cash logs and journals.
  • Completes documented quality assurance audits on all employees and provides ongoing education to staff.
  • Maintains time and attendance records as set by department guidelines.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, orients, counsels, evaluate and administer disciplinary action as appropriate.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of all insurance companies, charity guidelines, self pay policies and financial assistance programs.
  • Works in conjunction with Patient Access Services to ensure all collection opportunities have been exhausted upon patient arrival or upon discharge of patients.
  • Exhibits outstanding customer service skills, leads by example of professionalism at all times.
  • Exhibits understanding of DFAC and CEA processes.
    Position Requirements
    • Four (4) years' experience in healthcare supervision with experience in Patient Access, Services or Patient Financial Services.
    • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
    • Ability to train and direct the work of others.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Insurance Benefits and Charity Programs.
    • Prior experience in healthcare environment.
    • Ability to multi-task multiple projects.
      • B.S. degree in Business or,
      • Three (3) or more year's collection experience.
      • CPAR Certified.
      • CFC Certified
        License/Certification Requirements: No

        Work Hours: 8a-4:30p

        Weekend Requirements: No

        On-Call Requirements: No
