Sr. Manager, Accounting & Analysis in Atlanta, GA at Cox Media Group Develop, recommend, and implement accounting practices throughout CMG in accordance with GAAP to ensure that financial and operating data accurately reflect the condition of the business or unit and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. Experienced contributor with end-to-end ownership of multiple significant processes and complex areas of accounting. Responsible for driving continuous process improvement. Expected to communicate complex / sensitive topics to Senior Leaders and Executives across all platforms. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Responsible for performing accounting analysis and helping to maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with GAAP - Provide deep subject matter expertise within area of focus; resolve complex questions and / or challenges - Provide guidance and direction to members of the Enterprise Accounting team - Monitor end-to end processes to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance with GAAP - Recommend and incorporates effective internal controls into processes - Assist in drafting and maintaining accounting policies - Partner with cross-functional leaders, ensuring needs of all business partners are supported - Advise others within CMG on procedures, priorities, and standard methodology - Review variance analysis to include forecasting, prior month, and ad hoc reporting - Monitor team KPIs - Oversee special projects and tasks as neede d What we look for Minimum: - Must be an active--licensed CPA (REQUIRED) - 7 or more years of experience required in Accounting / Finance - Past experience with robust ERPs - Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Excellent soft skills such as: interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization Preferred: - 4 or more years of experience in a management role preferred - Experience with SaaS-based ERPs preferred
