Karna's strategic priority is to develop and maintain adaptable business and financial systems that provide high-quality information and transactional support within a strong and sustainable internal control environment. The successful candidate will work to drive initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Company's financial, business, and internal control processes. This position requires excellent communication skills, an in-depth understanding of financial and contractual systems and processes, and demonstrated success in project management with cross-functional collaboration.Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic direction and implementation for Karna's finance and contractual teams. Recommend solutions and develop business system scenarios that anticipate the future direction of the business and support requirements. Proactively facilitate complex design and technical discussions, reconcile differing opinions, and drive the decision-making process.
  • Apply Deltek-Costpoint financial systems knowledge and expertise to define and manage implementation of business and system improvements and transformations that reflect strategic and business priorities and strengthen accountability, compliance, information quality, efficiency, and sustainability
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with functional leaders, process owners, system users, and business leadership across the company to ensure success in financial and contractual management while ensuring compliance with internal and external audit and regulatory requirements
  • Lead and oversee development of annual budgets, financial reports, compliance documentation, and other deliverables, ensuring all are on time and of high quality
  • Prepare annual corporate revenue projections and work with supportive staff to update budget tracker forecast on a monthly basis. Track actuals, accruals and commitments against approved budgets to ensure project activities remain on budget
  • Troubleshoot to prevent and resolve potential problems related to operations and finance and review outputs for quality control
  • Provide guidance to peers and senior management, and coordinate with corporate partners
  • Acquire internal and external resources and subject matter expertise as required for successful project performance. Establish priorities for budget allocations and expenditures.
  • Manage others and perform all staff development, performance evaluations, and other activities as needed
  • Other duties as assignedQualifications
    • BA/BS Required in Public or Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, Master's preferred
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, financial systems implementation, application, and maintenance of internal controls
    • At least 5 years of experience with using Deltek-Costpoint accounting systems to provide fiscal and contractual oversight for managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of contracts or grants for a Federal Contractor or other organizations
    • Experience and knowledge in fiscally and operationally demonstrated skills in organizing, tracking, and monitoring resources and establishing priorities
    • Project management and business process transformation experience, as demonstrated through consulting or internal corporate leadership
    • Must demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills to deal with all levels of management and the ability to resolve complex non-recurring problems with novel and creative solutions
    • Government contractor business environment and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR, DFARS, HHSAR, GAAP and DCAA Contract Audit Guidance) experience
    • CPA license or other relevant certifications strongly preferred
    • Prefer candidates in Metro Atlanta, will consider non-local (remote)PM18 PI123541105
