Senior Controls Engineer

Alpharetta, GA

Design, develop, modify, and test intelligent systems and industrial system controls for KOCH's proprietary packaging machinery. Program machine sequences, including design, develop, write proprietary code, install, test, enhance and maintaining of software for operation of machines. Implement software updates for machine installations, re-tooling and retrofits of machine modules, software testing and troubleshooting, or software overhauls of KOCH's machinery. Testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying software components and systems, including programming of electronic machine upgrades, programming and troubleshooting electronic equipment ensuring precise operation of complete packaging process in a unified and efficient manner. Preparing tool setups, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components for mechanical and electrical machinery. Set up standard test apparatus/devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of the machinery. Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify machine programs to improve unit performance. Monitor performance of KOCH machines to ensure all modules operate in conformance with customer specifications and requirements. Retrofit machine modules and perform software overhauls of used proprietary equipment, per customer's specifications and to ensure continued adherence to current regulations. Design user friendly interfaces unique to each machine which seamlessly connect to other vendors' machinery ensuring correct operation of complete packaging process in a unified and efficient manner. Provide technical oversight relative to software in purchase orders and commission machines at KOCH headquarters in Germany in collaboration with the Engineering Team.
