Job Summary
The Institute for Electronics and Nanotechnology (IEN) at the
Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications
for Director of its 3D Systems Packaging Research Center (PRC), the
premiere industry-funded semiconductor packaging research center in
the United States. The new Director will lead the PRC during an
exciting time, as the industry turns its attention to advanced
packaging and heterogeneous integration and the federal government
expands its investment in the area. Given the deep
interdisciplinarity of PRC activities, it is anticipated that the
new Director will hold a joint tenured or tenure-track faculty
appointment in two or more Schools within Georgia Tech. The role of
PRC Director is a 25% administrative appointment. Qualified
candidates will be considered for an endowed chair and/or Georgia
Research Alliance Eminent Scholar position.PRC's highly
interdisciplinary team of faculty, research engineers, and students
span fundamental research in electrical, mechanical, thermal
design, materials and processes, and integration of these basic
research efforts to design and demonstrate system prototypes for
applications in all areas of electronics and computing. PRC's
research is supported by an industry consortium of more than 40
companies from the US, Europe, and Asia. PRC maintains a suite of
research labs and tools for packaging and heterogeneous
integration, including a 100-150 mm panel pilot facility for
prototyping electronic system technologies. PRC research also
benefits from IEN's state-of-the-art cleanroom and characterization
